My Milkshake

My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard,
And they're like
It's better than yours,

Do you ever get a song stuck in your head for no reason at all?
This song always tends to pop up in my head.

...and now I hope it gets stuck in your head!
Teehee, Happy Friday lovebirds!

What song frequently gets stuck in your head?

Hello there boys and girls!!
I've never played this game before.
In fact I hadn't heard of it until twitter!
I was a little confused, but now I understand.

I had originally planned on doing a Criminal Minds themed Eff.Marry.Kill... but I then
I realised I really like all the men on there, I wouldn't want to kill anyone....

Shamar Moore. Um. Seriously hot! Definitely, Eff.

Matthew Gray Gubler. He plays a super genius! Hot! Former fashion model, and voice of Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks! Definitely marry.

Michael Vick. Kill. Definitely kill. No need to explain that, right?

Yay! I played my first round of Eff.Marry.Kill! :-)

Who would you choose?

Beef Enchiladas

Celia's Beef Enchilada's

Last week I tweeted and facebooked a photo of our dinner.
We happened to be having beef enchiladas, rice and beans.

I was shocked when I received messages from people wanting to know how I made them!

So I decided to share here as well.

This is a super easy, and quick meal to make.

1lb lean ground beef
1 packet of your favorite taco seasoning (or season to taste)
6-8 flour or corn tortillas
can of your favorite no bean chili (or homemade chili)
1 package of either mozzarella cheese or sharp cheese.

1.) preheat oven to 375F
2.) brown ground meat & add in taco seasoning.
3.) warm chili in small sauce pan.
4.) set out tortillas.
5.) spoon taco meat into tortillas as desired.
6.) sprinkle with a little cheese & roll up.
7.) set enchiladas in a row in a baking dish.
8.) spread chili evenly across enchiladas.
9.) sprinkle cheese across enchiladas. use as little or as much as you want. in total i use about half of the cheese.
10.) pop in the oven for about 10-15mins or until cheese is evenly melted.
11.) let cool for a few minutes, and get your favorite rice & beans and enjoy!

Let me know if you try this, and how you like it!

He says..

So here's the rub.  I like cuddling as much as the next guy.  Cuddling is like anything else, it's great in moderation.  I love cuddling on the sofa while watching a movie or even just reading while Celia blogs.  My favorite though is when she sits next to me in my pickup (I've got an old single cab with a bench seat) and I can rest my arm around her, or on her legs.

When Celia first moved in with me after the Storm she was an emotional train wreck, and had every right to be.  She just had the life she knew completely stripped from her and everything she knew or loved was gone.  She moved into my childhood bedroom while I was finishing up school at the University of Houston, and I wanted to make things as easy as I could.

I held her hand before she fell asleep, because I wanted her to know that no matter what happened over the next few months (what turned out to be two years) I wasn't going to leave her side.  It was then that I first heard the song "Heartbreak World" by Matt Nathanson and from that point forward the song became our song (at least to me).

That said, those events took place a while ago.  We now live in our home, are engaged and life is as good as its been for us in a long time.  Like I said before I still love cuddling on the sofa or riding with my arm around her in my ol' pickup.  However, for the bulk of my life I've slept the same way.  On my side, with one pillow under my head and a feather pillow in my arms.  That is how it is.  Cuddling before makes it difficult for to get comfortable, and while she says I should cuddle her at least until she falls asleep I'd be willing to bet I beat her to it most nights.

I'm definitely an affectionate person, and I need that touch also.  But when its time for sleep, I'll thank you to stay on your side of the bed...

Until next time,

What about you?
Do you need your space when you sleep?

She says...

Are you ready to see me and my soon to be mister fight it out? Get ready, it's happening. Right here. On the blog. I kid, I kid!

Do you remember when Mrs. Monologue's took over my blog? Need a refresher? Read here.

#5 couldn't be more true. Sometimes I freeze up when people invade my personal space. I want to hyperventilate. This is especially true when it is a total and complete stranger!

...but when it comes to my honey bunny. I love to cuddle, and hug, and latch onto him. You may not see this much hanging out with us, as neither of us too keen on PDA when with our friends. Have you ever been around that couple. Eww.

When it's time for bed. Oh my goodness. All I want to do is tangle my feet in his.

...but what do I get? I get a growl from him. ...and he kicks my feet away, and out of his area. I tell him my feetsies are cold and he gives me socks. le sad.

When I first moved in with Mychael after Hurricane Ike about 3 years ago we fell asleep holding hands. I went from living with my parents, to suddenly driving back from Dallas to Houston...homeless & split apart from my parents. I was scared, and felt alone. Falling asleep with him in his childhood room holding hands was the best feeling ever. I knew that everything was going to be okay. He would be there for me, and he was going to protect me.

Now that we have our own place. I know I am safe with him here at home...but I still like the cuddles in bed. I swear, every night we spend about 5mins bickering over cuddles. I want to cuddle. He tells me he doesn't cuddle. I tell him he knows I want to cuddle, he tells me we have a Queen size bed, we have enough room for our own space.

I asked for a King size bed, he said no. I usually end up in the middle of the bed, sleeping right against him. I have woken up in the middle of the night and Mychael will be on my side of the bed laying with his head on my chest. Makes my heart happy.

What about you?
Are you a cuddler when it comes to sleepy time?
...or are you one of those evil people that needs their space?

**Stay tuned, Mychael will be on the blog Monday to explain his evilness and dislike for cuddles.**

Letter to myself - 16yrs old

Hey Celia!
It's me, well you...
Well this is awkward.

I am writing to you from the future.
I am the 26yr old version of you.

Don't believe me? You wear levis, you swear by them...
and 10yrs from now... you will still swear by them.
They are the only ones that fit your itty bitty waist and
big hips!

You are currently with a guy who is a senior at your highschool.
You think you are in love, but you are only in lust my dear.
You spend your weekends wondering where he is...
because you have received those phone calls from him...
from jail.... after one of his rapper shows.

he drinks, a lot. he does drugs...
yea something you don't believe in.
why are you with him?

He tells you he loves you.
He tells you he wants to marry you, two years after you graduate highschool.
You think, there is no perfect man out there. Perhaps you will just settle.
Your relationship is on and off for the next couple of years.
You find out he is cheating and you end it.
For good.

He will ask you for permission to marry the girl he is with in a few years (the girl he cheated on you with)
and he will ask you "this guy isn't going away is he?" ... the guy he will be referring to...
is your future husband.

You are trying to find yourself right now.
You ARE a coconut hun.

You are trying to be more "mexican", but it's not really working out for you.
You are who you are. Honestly, your not-so-mexican ways will benefit you later.
Trust me.

You work two jobs and still maintain your A's in school!
You are after that money, and it never changes.
You like to make your own money, buy what you want and do what you want!

You have this reputation in highschool... yet you've never laid a finger on anyone.
You are very opinionated and have no problem telling people off.
You're like 90lbs...literally and will tell any biznatch to meet you in the bathroom after school!
This never really changed, but you try your hardest to consider people's feelings as you get older.
You will one day understand that sometimes you just don't know
what is going on in people's lives.
It is much more respectable to be nice, and understanding.
You see people who are constantly bitchy as weak & unhappy.

Your parents are strict, you don't always understand why.
...but your relationship with them never changes.
you are close to them. They mean the world to you...

...and later when you meet guys it's one of the first things you tell them.
you even tell your future husband that your parents will always be in your life.
you will always help them, and if he has a problem with that... then he needs to walk.

You give up your dreams of going to college when your Dad gets sick...
but little do you know you will go off to a big university, you only get
two short years to live that college dream...
then your life changes drastically.

You are determined and will still work your way through college... one class at a time.
People will try to discourage you, but you'll quickly realise the people who
tell you college is a waste of time and money are those who have
never been... or couldn't make it through it.
Keep pushing through.

See you in 10 years!

Ridgemont Reserve - Whiskey Brownies

It's no secret amongst our friends that Mychael is a whiskey guy.

I have been searching for whiskey recipes.

Then, I found a recipe for homemade Jack  Daniel's brownies on

Super easy y'all!

3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup Crisco shortening
2 tablespoons water
6oz. chocolate chips (I used Nestle)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 - 1/2 cup Ridgemont Reserve*

6oz chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter

1.) Set oven to 350F
2.) Grease a 9-inch square pan.
3.) In a bowl, sift together, flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
4.) In a saucepan, combine sugar, shortening and water; cook over low heat to a light boil. Add in chocolate chips and vanilla; stir until smooth. Add in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add in flour mixture and nuts. Stir well.
5.) Put mix into the prepared baking pan. Spread evenly.
6.) Bake for 25-30 minutes.
7.) Remove from pan, slowly and evenly pour Ridgemont Reserve on top. Cool.
8.) For glaze: Melt chocolate chips with butter in small sauce pan, or in the microwave, stir until smooth. Spread over brownies.

*we didn't have Jack Daniel's at the house so I substituted Ridgemont instead.

Mychael loved the brownies.
He sent his coworker teasing photos of the brownies.
I, on the other hand, do not like whiskey...
but prior to the whiskey taste in my mouth they were yummy!

Beauty Secrets: My makeup bag

Today we are going to go through my makeup bag.

People have randomly asked me what makeup I use.
So I figured I would share right here.

Compared to some girls I wear very minimal makeup.
Others... I wear a lot. I honestly think it's nada.

I have 5 items in my makeup bag.

Yup, that's it. Five.

Here are the products I am currently using.

I usually only use this around my eyes to create a smoother pallet for eyeshadow.
....and it may just be my mind but it seems like at the end of the day I don't look as tired.

Covergirl's Trublend Minerals $7.99 @ Target
This is actually my first time using this make up.
(I use an Elf brush to apply)
I typically use Revlon's ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup.
I like this one. It seems to give my face a natural glow, and it's light.
I hate feeling like my face is full of makeup!
The Revlon one I typically use is great if you need coverup.
So I may buy some to keep on hand. =)

First time usuing this as well. I'm not much of a "name" person when it comes to makeup...
This is great. Brightens my eyes when I want to wear some eyeshadow.
Goes on smoothly, and lasts all day.
Best of all, it doesn't gunk up in the crease.

Mary Kay Waterproof Mascara - Black $10
This is my favorite mascara ever in life!
It is seriously the best.
Use it.

Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner - Target $7.49
I've been changing the eyeliner I use lately...
I've used pencil, they just don't seem the same after sharpening.
I've used liquid... I'm not great at drawing straight lines.
This one... I LOVE it goes on sooo smooth and so straight!
I haven't had to sharpen it yet... in fact I may have to do some research.
Do I use a regular sharpener on this one?

Please note: this makeup works perfectly for me and my skin.
I tend to have oily skin around my nose, cheeks, and forehead.
Dry skin around my chin.

Products may differ on your skin.

Are you going to defriend me now because I'm not all high maintenance when it comes to my makeup?
No? Aww... didn't think so! ;-)

While we are on the topic of makeup... which makeup bag do you use?
I need a new one! Is there one I must have?

What's in your makeup bag?

Football - Let's have a litte tailgating fun!

Ahhh hello weekend!
Although we do love hosting watch parties at our place.
Do you know what we love even more?
Tailgating our bootays off!

This year we have been able to tailgate with one of my Bridesmaids, Bobby, and her fabulous boyfriend Jesse!
So much fun!
...and The Original Tailgating girls are back at it again this year!
Who says you can't be girly, and love football?

Look at those flags! So pretty!
Love love love those iron drink holders!
Our tailgating spot is right along the path where the parade stops!

My fiance looks so handsome and mature! OoOoOh.
Our group definitely knows how to play flip cup like champs!
Another bridesmaid, Shellie, tailgating Vegetarian style!
She's a Longhorn fan, trying to bring her to the good side! ;)

The lovely football couples again!
Football is the only time it's acceptable to sweat!
Oh, and maybe gym time...

If things don't work out with The Love and I... I'll just hook up with one of these Frontiersmen. ;)
The Original Tailgating Girls together for one last time this year.

...and do you know who this is?
You should, fellow blogger Mrs.Stephanie Howard!
You can find her on Twitter here, and she is the writer behind BEAUtiful Mess.
I was so surprised to run into her!

Do you head out to support your local team?
Do you tailgate?

In exactly one year I will be marrying the most handsome & most intelligent man I know.
(besides my Dad of course)
I will be marrying the one guy who finally wasn't afraid to tell me "no" when I wanted something.
The only guy who didn't tell me he loved me within a couple months.
I will be marrying the man who didn't let me run away...
and who didn't let me push him away.

Most importantly...
I'll be marrying the man I love.
My very best friend.

Did you know I always told my parents I would never get married.

I am not the girl that has dreamt of her wedding since she was a little girl.

I didn't seriously start thinking about marriage until I met Mychael.

There was something about him.
I felt ridiculously comfortable.
I felt like I could be me when I was with him.
The only people on this earth that I let my guard down around are my parents.
Yet... I felt the same way with Mychael.
We just click!

I can't wait for 10.13.2012
I can't wait to be his Mrs.

I'm guest posting over at The Vintage Apple today.
She's currently on her honeymoon!!
Go give her lots of l.o.v.e. !

365 Project

Have you all heard of the 365 project

Most of you probably have, but for those of you who haven't...

The 365 project is where you snap a photo a day, for 365 days.
That's one year of your life.

It can be of anything.

I am starting my project 365 tomorrow!

It marks one year from a very special day!

...and I would like to document it as much as possible.

Don't look for a posting from me every day.

Perhaps once a week. :-)

I've attempted this several times.

Maybe this time I will stick with it!

Have you ever attempted the 365 project?

Klout perk I received from One Hope Wine. :-)

Stray kitty I found in our warehouse at work.
He was so sweet! My co-worker took him home.
He sleeps with her daughter at night.

University of Houston football game this past weekend!
We are now 6-0!!! If you ever have a chance, come join us for a game.
Guaranteed blast!

Two of my friends and I went to the Hobbit Cafe for brunch yesterday.
One is vegan, the other vegetarian, and I'm the meat eater.
Perfect place for the 3 of us!

Sprinkles Cupcakes!
My friend and I went with the intention of buying their 4-pack.
I was checking Twitter and they had one of there freebies on there.
So we walked in and received our free cupcake! Yay!

Thoughtful "thank you" package I received from a fellow blogger.
I'll tell you more this upcoming week. :)
So so sweet!

Another Klout perk! I received my MOO cards!
They are tinier than they look!
I am so excited to start networking more!

What's on your phone??

Football - Let's have a watch part-ay!

What do I love most about Fall?
Well I would say the cooler weather.
It seems like cool weather doesn't arrive until about November around here.
If we are lucky....

I love football!
...and I love that I am lucky enough
to be with a guy who knows his stuff enough to teach me.
I can make calls before the ref even calls them!
Hell yeah!!

Since we are all settled in to our Condo this year, when our team is away.
We host watch parties! Wheeee!!

Chip bowl I found at Arnee's! So perfect for this germaphobe!

I love that we are able to have our friends over to watch games.
I love that our friends want to come over to watch games.

For one of the last games we weren't going to do anything,
we had a lot to do and figured no one would want to drive down for the second
weekend in a row anyhow.

Then we received all kinds of texts from our friends asking if they could come over.
It makes my heart warm.

Do you like to host watch parties?
What are your favorite foods to bring?

I own YOU

Ok, so I don't own any person, but...
last week I came home and had letter from my bank.

Wahoo! It's the title to my car!
I finally own my little baby! :o)
No more car payments for me!!

Have you ever paid off a vehicle?
I can't wait until we pay off our Condo! =)
